TVs (Teen Volunteers) are dedicated former campers at Baltimore Woods who are at least 14 years old. These helpful teens volunteer their time to help our Day Camp Counselors deliver the excitement of nature camp to our younger campers.

What does being a TV involve?

TVs will spend each day with a group of children under the supervision of an adult counselor. TVs help in supervision, teaching, playing games, and making sure each camper in the group is having a good time. TVs are also responsible for a "Daily Duty" to help keep camp clean and operating smoothly. In addition, TVs must attend one of the required training session, held at Baltimore Woods on June 29th or 30th.

How many weeks can I volunteer?
TVs are encouraged to volunteer for no more than two weeks. They must be available for the entire week for which they are volunteering. Any TVs wishing to volunteer for more than two weeks must obtain the Camp Director's approval.

What if I was never a camper at Baltimore Woods Summer Nature Day Camp?
This opportunity is usually only offered to former campers.  Anyone who has not been a camper here will have to speak with the Camp Director for approval.

How much does it cost?
There is no fee for being a TV, but your family must maintain a Family Level (or above) membership with BWNC.  The current cost for Family Level membership is $40.

Do I get a staff T-shirt?
YES!  Submit your design ideas to Tom@baltimorewoods.org

TV hours can be used to fulfill school volunteerism requirements.
