Winter 2010

Nocturnal Nature

There is a lot of night to love during winter.  Much of the CNY landscape has adapted to the nocturnal nature of this time of year. With a lack of sunlight, trees have shed their leaves, their photosynthetic factories. Nocturnal owls are courting, while their prey, small mammals, scamper safely through snowy tunnels. Adapting is necessary: learn to love the nocturnal nature of winter. Join The Woods for an owl prowl, a moonlit snowshoe walk, or even a romantic star gazing event Valentine's weekend and embrace the night.
